How To Make A Minecraft Server

You will first need two things. A decent Desktop as well as the Java version of Minecraft. Without either of these items, making your own Minecraft server will become a very trying matter to accomplish. Other versions like the pocket edition or Bedrock will not be able to assist you in the creation of a Minecraft server, so make sure you have the proper hardware and software to proceed to the next step. You can download the Java version here.

Minecraft Server Download

The file is always up-to-date with the latest Minecraft version. To ensure that the file doesn't get deleted, but also so that it is available for the next step, make sure you create a folder.

Step 3

You will then take the chance to enter the folder that now holds your program and then run the main system. After you have accepted the agreement, open the eula.txt.file. Next, change the line eula=false into eula=true. Take the opportunity to save the changes before exiting and then run the main jar file to unlock the full documents and txt files that exist within it. You will now have your brand new Minecraft server. However, you won't be done yet.

Step 4

To properly launch your server, you will need to reenter the folder and create a new file. Minecraft Servers You should also name it something that indicates that it is a launch document. After you have done this, click on the document to enter the code below.

Java -Xms1024M -Xm1024 -jar server.jar pause

This coded command will be included in your document to allow the server to run at a higher level of efficiency.

A quick reminder: All files you create in this folder should be tagged with ".bat" at end of names.

To test if the steps you have taken, try testing your start_server buttons. Your new server will launch if you followed the instructions correctly. If not, make sure to check that you have correctly named your files.

Step 5

The last step you'll take is the familiar one you use every time you create new worlds in your base Minecraft game. Open your server properties file to see a list with options for your Minecraft world that you can change without any restrictions.

This can involve difficulty, the maximum amount of players, your game mode, and even the name of your world. This section is for the type world you wish to create when you start your server. So take some time to consider what kind of environment it would be.

Step 6

You will need to start your server before you can move on to the next step. Next, start Minecraft. This will allow you to go to the multiplayer tab and access your add-server option. You will need to know your IP address so that other players can access your unique server. After that, you should not have any problems connecting to your server. Then you can enjoy the fruits your labor through your customized server.
