Minecraft Realms Pros
Minecraft Realms offers a lot of great features that make it very easy to use. First, click just 3 buttons to create your survival world. Realms also allows you play from a few select Minigames that only takes a few clicks from you're mouse and you are ready to play with your friends. Another great feature that is VERY useful is that it automatically backs up your world. This is useful in the event that you are hit by lava or your house is damaged by someone else. There are also different things that you can edit on your Realm, such as its name, the gamemode, the difficulty, and the description. One button allows you to see how much time you still have on your server before your subscription ends. Realms is extremely user-friendly, as it takes only a few clicks.
Minecraft Realms Cons
There are many positive aspects to Minecraft Realms. There is no world editing. You don't get to choose super-flat or extra-biomes. It just makes it easy to navigate a normal Minecraft world. Chit Chat Chit Chat While you can use commands on your world, command blocks are not yet allowed, so the making of server management machines cannot be done. Another problem with Minecraft Realms is players. You can only invite 20 players to your world. However, you can have only 10 players on your world at a time. I like the minigame map, but they could use more. They currently have five minigames: Cake Defense 2, Blocks vs. Zombies (the Walls), Autospleef and Dash of Doom. These minigames are fun, but they can get old pretty quick. My friends and I would be entertained for hours if we had a wide variety of minigames. Another problem is price, I think. While 13 dollars (8 euros) may not seem like a lot, it is a good amount more than what minecraft server hosts offer. Realms does not have some of the features that make Minecraft more fun.
Overview: Realms works well if you want to have a simple world with your friends. If you want to host a large server or make money off it, it is NOT recommended. It's also great if you don't know much about servers, as it allows you to easily change things with a few clicks. Realms isn’t the right place for you if you want a large server.
