'Minecraft' might get Banned in Turkey for being too Violent

In a move that is pure absurdity, Turkey wants to ban Minecraft because its Family and Social Policy Ministry has deemed it to be too violent for children. Yes, Minecraft is banned because Survival Mode requires you to defend yourself from zombie-like Mobs which can mean you must kill them. According to Hurriyet Daily News, the Ministry says that children could mistake Minecraft's blocky, pixelated world for the real one, which would lead them to believe that torturing animals was acceptable. Minecraft-server-list.Xyz Sure; okay. The reason behind the company casting its gaze at Microsoft's $2.5 billion acquisition in the first place? To find out if the game encourages violence against women. At least its heart was in the right place at the outset.

Even if you only have just a little knowledge of Minecraft the entire concept may sound too bizarre to be true. However, this isn't the case. As VentureBeat notes, Turkey would be the first country to ban the game if the Ministry's petition wins however, it hasn't a track record of banning games (you know, like real violent ones). With the history of the government of blocking access to things like Twitter and YouTube, however, it isn't clear if it'll follow suit with Mojang's new baby.
