Have you ever heard the expression “it is what it is”? Precisely what does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper concise explaination this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating across the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since that is my last life on earth and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the program In Miracles is needed me clarify its meaning.

What is the IT that we are talking about here? Based on the Course in Miracles, It can be truth, specifically God’s truth. Why do vital that you emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s simple truth is not offered to interpretations whereas a human’s the fact is. Multiple versions of human truth have lead to a many religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as being a “system of thought, feeling, and action that’s shared by way of a group and that provides members an item of devotion.”

Who devised the device of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In accordance with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is usually to go back to a great condition of being. There’s no thought or action in the condition of being, you only are. What must not be forgotten will be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we’re all perfect and infinite kids of God.

Put one way, “it is exactly what it is” might be rewritten to “God’s love is the only truth which is absolute” this also truth knows no bounds and it is timeless.
