The ultra-fast grocery delivery sector has continued to move downhill as Getir, one of many sector’s leading players, announced plans to slash a few tenth of its workforce for the second time this year.

The Turkey-based firm, which guarantees to deliver groceries in minutes, will cut 2,500 jobs, or 11 per cent of its workforce, across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, United States and Turkey to “significantly enhance operational efficiency”.

The firm refused to disclose how many workers within the UK, certainly one of its biggest markets, had been affected.
