NEW YORK – September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -Record-breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022, an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That’s a 13% increase over 2019.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. “The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism entry numbers month after month; We’re extremely pleased to witness such a positive shift and expect a continued increase in the coming years and months to come.”

Canada with 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 in August isn’t too far from the United States.

“It is exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is rebounding,” said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. “We aren’t far off our record in 2019 and we are anticipating that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to increase because Canadians feel more confident about traveling across the globe.”

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country’s officially reopening to travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
