NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire/ — The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a four% rise over 2019, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. “It is so exciting to witness a new increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019,” said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are thrilled to see this positive shift and are expecting an upward trend that will continue for months, and possibly years.

Canada, which has 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022 and 6,000 in August is not far behind the United States.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that “it’s so exciting to witness how tourism in Canada is recovering.” “We are near our record numbers for the year 2019. We expect that this growth will continue as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in 2019, with 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless whether they have been vaccination-free. Israel already has hosted more than 600,000 visitors.
