NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourist arrivals from America. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists in July 2022. It was a four percent increase from 2019, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. “It is exciting to see a new growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019,” he stated. “The United States has been the most important destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, we were celebrating record numbers of Israel’s tourism entry every month.

In line with in the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,000 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that “it’s thrilling to observe how Canada’s tourism is rebounding.” We’re not too far away from our record numbers in 2019, and we are hoping that this growth in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable traveling internationally.”

Israel received more tourists from all over the world during the year 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel’s official reopening to all travelers was May 2018. The country has already been home to more than 600,400 US travellers since that time.
