NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of visitors from the United States. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. It was a four percent increase over the year before, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. “The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to witness this change and expect an upward trend that will continue for months or even years.

Just like in the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourist arrivals in Israel with 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

“It is so exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is booming,” said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. “We aren’t too far from our record 2019 numbers, and we are anticipating that the growth in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more confident about traveling internationally.”

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists in the year 2019 including 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless whether they have been vaccinated. Israel has already hosted more than 600,000.
