NEW YORK – Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for tourist arrivals to Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. “It is thrilling to see a new increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of the year 2019,” he stated. “The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourism entry each month. It’s a fantastic positive shift that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an increase in the years to come.”

Canada which isn’t too far from that of the United States of America, is poised to surpass the tourist numbers to Israel. The country had 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in visitors in August.

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists including 969,600 from the United States, and since its official reopening to everyone regardless of their the status of their vaccination in May Israel has seen over 600,400 US visitors.
