NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 that’s a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was thrilling to witness the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019 he stated. “The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 that was in the news, we had record-breaking tourist entry numbers every month. We are thrilled to see this positive shift and anticipate a steady upward trend for months and even years.

In line with the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel by 7,200 tourists in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was exciting to see tourism from Canada to Israel returning. “We aren’t too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that the growth in tourism to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians continue to feel more at ease travelling abroad.”

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since its official reopening to all travelers regardless of vaccination status in May this year, the country has already received over 600,400 US tourists.
