NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than the number of visitors in 2019.

Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, “It’s so exciting to once more see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, already reaching or surpassing the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019”. נווה פריצקי “The United States is our top destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 pandemic we had record-breaking numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel each month. We are so happy to see an improvement in the trend, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come.”

Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August saw 6,600.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that it was thrilling to see tourism from Canada to Israel returning. “We aren’t far off our record 2019 and we expect that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more confident about traveling across the globe.”

Israel welcomed over 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country’s official reopening to all travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
