The game Signalis comes to life with the help of the rose engine and it is a straightforward classically inspired, pure, honest horror survival game with no filler content, that offers a unique sci-fi artistic style of horror and emotional driven story telling in Japanese, German, sexy yet appropriate art style.

Silent Hill Meets Ghost In The Shell – Signalis Review Survival Horror Game

Gamers across all platforms such as Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 alongside those on the Nintendo Switch and PC can get their hands on it now, and in the coming months of February 2023 as a physical edition. It is also available in Xbox Game Pass.

    Gameplay

Signalis has simple gameplay wise is reminiscence of the original classic survival games like Silent Hill and the resident Evil. It is a top down view, pixel, art, survival shooter with limited melee capabilities and a limited inventory of six items to help you navigate across the globe.

It’s a sci-fi only single player narrative experience with a storyline that drives the drama home with resident evil levels of weak melee weapons forcing the combat fight to take place at weapons distance, like shotguns and pistols.

The game world is comprised of interconnected rooms that you explore and find keys or items that help solve the puzzles by combining items in safe rooms allowing you to use the tools that you need to be able to survive.

You will encounter enemies who can be killed if you don’t have ammo in the pistols, or shotguns you encounter all over the world of games while trying to make sense of the reason and purpose behind doing what you’re doing on this mysterious planet.

The game starts off easy and simple, but you will find out that the difficulty increases dramatically as the game progresses, epically, towards the end with enemies that come back to life, appear out of vents and floors, and more, and simple, easy, yet thrilling boss fights in a claustrophobic environment.

I’d say it is not the games fault however, if you advance in the game significantly for about two or three hours into and then stop for a few days , coming back can be hard since the game doesn’t provide you with the information you’re supposed to do next . Also, with the map being a little hard to understand beginners may be put off initially however, if you follow the guides and exercise your brain muscles. Trust me when I say that the effort is worth it.

The enemy variety is a little limited to my taste, but it was made by 2 people and I am able to accept it because what’s there is mostly simple, classical and efficient use of survival horror enemy game design.

    Story

The game’s story takes place in a dystopian world, and is presented in a way that prompts you to consider the story’s ending and the meaning and the meaning behind the story, rather than simply playing the game and get told what the story means. The game is designed to make you think about the story.

Personally, I found the narrative mechanisms of the female employees and the male and female representation by machines in a supposedly communist work environment interesting.

I’m not going into the details to keep spoilers out So let me simply say that it is not an easy story to digest and leave you to determine, in my opinion the meaning behind things, for it is not based on logic and reality in the sense that it is.

    Graphics/Performance

For graphics and performance of Signalis the game, I won’t be doing a deep analysis because it performs good and looks nice because of its distinctive art style. It runs efficient and beautifully on every device that you can play it on. I honestly hope it comes to mobile devices such as iPhone and Android in the near future.

I would recommend watching it on an OLED Tv or Monitor because it’s stunning.

    Sound

In the realm of sound, just take a listen:

Since it is primarily done by two people, I believe the sound design is straightforward, yet really effective at delivering claustrophobic adrenaline rush moments but with a calmness to transforms the entire experience into an adrenaline-pumping rollercoaster of fear and terror.

    Achievements/Fan Service

On the achievements side, the game is actually easy to get all the achievements and according to trueachievements.com, you can get them all with an 8 to 10 hours. It is possible to finish the game faster if you would like to speed it up.

On the side of fan service to things the anime Japanese depicted characters are cute beautiful, large eyes, and the feminine figure is represented in the art style and it is aesthetically pleasing and satisfying. Thus, signalis game give this a thumbs up. of the culture. If you think it’s not enough, I’m gonna have to advise you to touch some grass right now. Then, stop the video and go.

Conclusion – Silent Hill Meets Ghost In The Shell Signalis survival horror game review

To end, I’ll say that this is one of those survival horror titles that go down in history as a straightforward but really top-quality Indie developer. The game is a success story that I would recommend to anyone who loves survival horror should enjoy. Particularly, the classical style Evil, resident, and Silent Hill titles needs to take a look and experience.

signalis game don’t play all of my single-player games, therefore I’m not working towards more endings, however I can say I’m glad and proud to have been able to go on this extraordinary journey by the publisher of the rose engine.
