NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire• In July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism reported record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four percentage increase over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than the number of visitors in 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was thrilling to witness the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. “The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel, and before the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist numbers each month. We’re so happy to see this positive change and expect a continued upward trajectory for months and years to be.”

Canada is also on track, like the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,000.

“It is exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding,” said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. “We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more at ease travelling abroad.”

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since its official reopening for any traveler regardless of vaccination status in May of this year Israel has witnessed over 600,400 US visitors.
