NEW YORK – Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. “The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. This is a positive shift that we are very happy about and anticipate an upward trajectory for many months to come.”

Canada with 7,200 tourists in July 2022, and 6,000 in August, isn’t far behind the United States.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that “it’s so exciting to witness how Canada’s tourism is rebounding.” “We aren’t far off our record in 2019 and we are anticipating that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more confident traveling across the globe.”

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since its official reopening to any traveler regardless of the status of their vaccination in May this year The country has received more than 600,400 US travelers.
