NEW YORK – Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of travelers from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. The country received 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to observe a rise in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019 he stated. “The United States has been the most important market for Israel’s tourism inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we had record numbers of Israel’s tourism entry each month.

Canada with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,000 in August isn’t too much behind the United States.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that “it’s so exciting to witness how tourism in Canada is recovering.” We’re still not far from our record 2019 numbers and we expect that this growth in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling internationally.”

Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country’s official reopening to all travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
