The Kerem Tunnel is a great place to ride and hike.

The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, is constructed as a part of the 42-kilometer cycle route which is a loop around the capital.

The tunnel is located along the Nahal Refaim-Emek Motza route. It is located in southern Israel within Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the nearest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.

On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and a slew of cyclists participated in a ceremony to mark the opening of the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.

The project was financed by the Elkin’s Ministry as well as the Tourism Ministry. It also included the budgets for the Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The work was completed by the Jerusalem Development Authority.
